Good Thinking – 3- Evidence

So far this Good Thinking mini-series has touched on goals and assumptions. What about using facts? Not fake news. Not opinions. Find the evidence and “let it speak.”

Good thinking is based on evidence that is sought and used to examine the validity of your goals and the alternatives to achieving these goals. Disconfirming evidence should be celebrated!

We HATE to be wrong so we often ignore evidence or don’t even look for it. Sometimes we ignore the science. Sometimes we align with a political ideology. And all too often the two areas overlap and we fall into the trap of “Don’t confuse me with evidence; I’ve already made up my mind!”

Remember, Covid-19 kills liberals and conservatives alike. It’s apolitical. Please follow the evidence
